What we collect

The enquiry form asks for a business name, an email address, and a short brief — what the business does, whether it is an existing business or a new idea, your current site if you have one, brand colours, where your photographs are, and anything else you want to tell us. That is all of it, and all of it is typed by you.

There is one hidden field on the form that people never see and never fill in. If it comes back filled in, the submission is dropped as automated and nothing is stored.

What we do with it

We use it to build the site and to reply to you. It is not sold, it is not shared with anybody outside the business, and it is not used to market anything to you beyond answering the enquiry you sent.

Where it goes

Into our own database, on servers in the EU or the UK. Nothing is passed to an advertising network and there are no third-party trackers on this site.

To stop the form being flooded, the number of submissions from one connection is counted for a minute at a time. That count is held in memory and the address is never written down.

How long we keep it

Enquiries we did not take further are deleted within a year. If we build you a site, we keep what we need to run it for as long as you are a client and for six years afterwards, which is how long HMRC expects business records to be kept.

What you can ask for

A copy of what we hold, a correction, or its deletion. Write and ask and we will do it — there is no form for this and no hoop to jump through.

If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.

Who to write to

Local Foundry is AIFTRC, and is the data controller for anything sent through this site.
